Diesel Technician - 2nd shift

Job Description

Immediate opening for a 2nd‑shift Diesel Technician at our Freightliner of Hagerstown dealership. Salary $40,000–$100,000 per year.

Position Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED, or 1–3 months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must provide own hand tools
  • Must be able to work 2nd shift
Position Preferences
  • Commercial driving license
  • Heavy‑duty truck experience
  • Technical training school or equivalent experience
Technician Duties
  • Determine cause of malfunction using manufacturer‑approved troubleshooting guides, test drive, or service manuals
  • Promote sales of labor, parts, and accessories to meet customer needs
  • Perform labor operations using recommended procedures, tools, and equipment
  • Document work performed and applicable technical information
  • Note additional needed work and obtain approval before proceeding
  • Clean all parts that have been worked on and keep customer vehicles clean
  • Maintain housekeeping and organization of personal work area
  • Maintain tools and equipment
  • Order parts according to dealership procedures
  • Tag all warranty parts and return all dirty cores promptly
  • Perform repairs in a timely manner set by manufacturer standard repair time guidelines
