Job SummaryCompletion of the day-to-day job operations of our customer’s service projects, roof leak investigations and repairs in a safe, productive, orderly and profitable manner.

- Report to the shop daily to receive work instructions for the day.
- Load material onto vehicles and onto jobsite as requested.
- Tear off roofing materials and transport debris, as needed.
- Use basic power tools, i.e. screw gun, circular saw, etc.
- Proper ladder set up.
- Inspect and properly wear PPE.
- Ensure interior protection and protection of owner’s property.
- Set up controlled access zones.
- Rig materials to be loaded onto the roof.
- Make repairs on BUR systems (including Spudding).
- Install EPDM systems.
- Make repairs to metal roof systems.
- Install insulation crickets.
- Install wood blocking.
- Install flashing to all curbs and projections.
- Install pitch pockets, vents and drain leads.
- Install repairs to TPO and PVC Systems (Leister).
- Fabricate and install metal flashings.
- Install coating systems and sealers.
- Investigate leaks/translate leak locations from interior to roof level.
- Clean roof area and ground.
- Keep truck clean, stocked and organized.
- Keep all equipment in good repair.
- Fully understand/execute FSC Repair tickets to include proper documentation and photo taking to tell the story of the repair being made.
- Any other duties as assigned.
- Follow all Heidler Roofing, LLC., OSHA and customer safety policy and procedures.
- Assist in maintaining a safe workplace.
- Immediately report all unsafe conditions to supervisor or safety manager.
- Supervise and train employees in quality workmanship.
- Plan, prepare and coordinate daily activities.
Climbing – Ability to scale ladders supporting weight of body with feet supported on rungs and hands grasping side rails while climbing upward or downward. Lifting – (to chest height) – Ability to raise weights (average 50 lbs) by grasping with hands while in a squat position with feet planted apart and raising load by straightening legs to standing position, holding back upright.
Load is elevated to chest height by raising with upper and lower arm muscles. Carrying – Following lifting to chest maneuver, load is transported by walking motion. Lifting – (overhead) – Following lifting to chest maneuver, load (generally 50 lbs or less) is raised to height at or above head level by extending arms upward while feet are firmly planted apart and back is kept straight.
Pushing, Pulling – Load (of 50 – 100 lbs or more) is grasped and steadied by both hands while pressure is exerted to shove or drag load in a forward or backward direction by walking. Raking, Shoveling, Tearing – While in standing position, and grasping a long-handled implement, the dominant hand is used to shove the implement on a repeated basis while it is steadied with the other hand.
Kneeling, Crouching, Bending – Working on the deck surface of the roof for extended periods requires frequent bending from waist and reaching down with arms, crouching with knees bent and body weight balanced on balls of feet, or kneeling on knees with calves folded under body. Grasping – Ability to seize with hand(s) and fingers in a manner that object will be held firmly for support or manipulation.
Stability – Must be able to stand and walk firmly under normal working conditions without falling or loss of equilibrium. Must not be afflicted with vertigo.
Must be mentally comfortable in scaling to and working at roof heights of buildings.
EnvironmentalWorking outdoors frequently in extreme temperatures and weather conditions. Working with hot and toxic materials.
