Avionics Technician III
Location:
Hagerstown, MD
Duration: 12 Months
Duties:
· As an Avionics Technician III, you will be using your skills and expertise to perform avionics maintenance according to FCC, FAA and company policies and regulations.
· You'll be responsible for installing, testing, troubleshooting and repairing avionics components, and maintaining test equipment, tools, and manuals.
· This position demands hands-on proficiency with harness assembly and aircraft modification, including harness routing, connector termination, ring-out, and functional testing. These specialized skills are crucial to ensure the proper integration and performance of complex aircraft systems during modification projects. Candidates will be expected to demonstrate experience with terminating the following connector types:
COAX
CIR-MIL
RJ-45 Network
D-SUB
· Experience with TRIAX, QUADRAX, Fiber-Optic assemblies, and El Ochito RF Connectors is not required but would certainly be a nice-to-have.
Skills:
· Must have own tools in good working order
· Ability to understand and interpret basic applicable technical schematics, diagrams, blueprints, manuals, and/or publications; ability to route wires per technical drawings
· Advanced skills with avionics installation tooling, wiring, wiring repair, wiring installation, soldering, and crimping techniques.
Preferred:
· Familiarity with FCC and FCC GROL
· Basic understanding of spectrometer, oscilloscope, and/or pitot static equipment
· Background in the Aerospace and Defense Industry, the US Department of Defense or US Military Ability to obtain and maintain a Security Clearance may be required.
Education:
· High school diploma or GED equivalent and typically 5 or more years of relevant experience
· A higher-level degree may substitute for experience
· Related experience may be considered in lieu of required education.
