B300​/C208 Captain

The Captain will perform duties as Pilot-In Command and is responsible for safe and legal aircraft operation in accordance with FAA regulations and the DST Flight Operations Manual (FOM). Duties include, but are not limited to, flight planning, ATC coordination of special activities, and post-flight tasks. The Captain will communicate with customers to ensure a clear understanding of both flight and schedule objectives, with safety being the first priority.

The Captain will utilize effective Crew Resource Management techniques and procedures when operating in both single and two-pilot environments to include briefing all flight participants on safety and egress procedures prior to flight. The Captain will report any mechanical issues or concerns to an appropriate Maintenance Department member and the Chief Pilot. The Captain completes all necessary aircraft administration documents for aircraft time tracking and manifest.

This is a full-time position, including some unusual hours. The length of a workday varies depending on customer requirements. Days of work are typically Monday through Friday. Working hours can vary depending on the position and role, with some workdays requiring longer hours, including work periods of 12-14 hours a day. Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties and the customer’s requirements demand.

When on standby duty, the employee will be required to report to the DST Hagerstown facility within 1 hour. Shorter report times may be necessary.

Travel is required as requested by customers. Traveling includes overnight stays outside of the normal working location and may be for extended durations.
