Registered Nurse – PACU

Ketchum,  | Perioperative / PACU

Contract | Days | 8- or 10-hour shifts; start times range from 6–8 AM (12-hour shifts are rare)

• Provide perioperative nursing care across pre-op, PACU Phase 1 and Phase 2, pre-Endo, and post-Endo areas as assigned
• Care for a diverse surgical patient population including orthopedic (total joints, sports med, ortho trauma), general, GYN, C-section, endoscopy, and occasional plastics, neuro/spinal, and pediatric cases
• Follow ASPAN nurse-to-patient ratio guidelines within a 14-bay perioperative unit (3 PACU bays and 11 interchangeable pre-op, same-day discharge, and Endo bays)
• Read and interpret cardiac monitor strips as required
• Participate in room turnover and daily unit chores in collaboration with CNA support staff
• Fulfill on-call obligations, including approximately 5–6 call shifts per month on weeknights and weekends on a rotating basis; must remain within 30 minutes of the facility when on-call

• Active RN license
• BLS, PALS, and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum of 1 year of PACU experience with strong Phase 1 recovery background; candidates with extensive inpatient nursing experience and at least 1 year in PACU will be considered
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

• 2 or more years of PACU experience
• Experience with C-section recovery (candidates without this experience may still be considered)
• Endoscopy nursing experience (limited experience is acceptable)
• Open to first-time travelers with qualifying PACU background

• Scrubs are provided, and travelers receive structured unit-specific orientation with a dedicated preceptor for 3–5 shifts
• Work in a collaborative perioperative environment supported by charge nurses, an ANM Monday through Friday, and CNA staff on weekdays
