We are looking for an experienced Investment Researcher / Administrator to support Financial Advisers and Paraplanners in an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA) environment. This hybrid role combines administrative, compliance, and investment research responsibilities to ensure a smooth, efficient, and compliant client service process.
You will act as a key point of contact between advisers, clients, and external providers while assisting with research and documentation that supports investment recommendations.
Key Responsibilities- Act as primary liaison between advisers, clients, and external providers.
- Manage Letters of Authority (LOAs) and ensure timely processing of applications, fund switches, and withdrawals.
- Maintain accurate client records in the CRM and ensure all documentation complies with regulatory and internal standards.
- Prepare client files, valuation reports, and meeting documents.
- Source up-to-date fund values, quotes, and illustrations.
- Conduct initial product, platform, and investment solution research using tools such as Financial Express, Defaqto, or Dynamic Planner.
- Review portfolios, calculate performance metrics, and produce reports for client meetings.
- Support suitability assessments by gathering client financial and personal data.
- Accurately process new business applications and other transactions via online platforms.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Excellent numeracy and IT proficiency, including financial planning software and Excel.
- Proactive, self‑motivated, and able to manage multiple cases to tight deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for professional client and provider liaison.
- 1–2 years’ experience in administration within financial services, wealth management, or related sectors.
- Certificate in Financial Services (Level 3 or
4) - Modules from Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning (e.g., R01, R02)
- Investment Administration Certificate or equivalent
- Work in a professional, client‑focused environment.
- Gain exposure to investment research and client‑facing processes.
