Senior Financial Planning Analyst

The purpose of the role will primarily be to drive systemisation and process improvements across FP&A and Finance.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a private equity owned business in Sussex. The business is highly acquisitive and has consistently delivered double digit growth. The successful candidate will get the opportunity to join a fast paced and strong finance team, and to work with and learn from a friendly and hardworking department with a healthy proportion of qualified accounts.

Projects will include:

• Work to move the finance team away from excel and to drive automation using Prophix FP&A+ software, or other software packages as appropriate, speeding up month end in the process. Aspen is in the process of migrating from an older version of Prophix to FP&A+ and the successful candidates will support this transition.
• Work with the data team to migrate financial data into Snowflake (data lake) so to help create a self-service environment for stakeholders to utilize.
• Work with the data team to consolidate group wide data into Snowflake from acquisitions, to ensure consistency of reporting and improved visibility.
• Support the automation and development of forecasting / budgeting processes using the above software solutions.
• Systemization of European and Board reporting pack into Power Bi.
• Support / oversee month end FP&A processes as needed. Work with the FP&A manager to support and coach junior analyst in the team.
• Ah Hoc analysis to support the FP&A team in delivering information to the business as required.

• An enthusiastic, self-starter and driven candidate with a desire for a challenging but progressive finance career.
• Quick learner, with the ability to demonstrate this via experience in career to date.
• Strong academic background and/or a demonstrated progressive CV within the workplace.
• Extremely strong analytical and excel skills are required. An excel analytical test will be conducted as part of the recruitment process.
• Experience in working with big data to drive commercial value and analytical insight is essential.
• Ability to turn complex data into visual and understandable stories.
• Knowledge of FP&A software and financial modelling software is desirable but not essential, as training will be provided.
• Experience using SQL and/or DAX would be preferable.
• Progress towards ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualifications is strongly desired.
• The candidate is likely to need to be able to drive due to the location of the Hailsham offices.
