Digby Pines Golf Resort & Spa is seeking a highly detail-oriented and dependable  Accounting Clerk  to join our Finance team. This role is critical to the success of our operations, with primary responsibility for  bi-weekly payroll, gratuity administration, and core accounting support  in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Key Responsibilities  Payroll Administration   Process full-cycle  bi-weekly payroll  for a multi-department workforce
Maintain accurate employee records (new hires, terminations, status changes)
Administer payroll deductions (CPP, EI, taxes, benefits, garnishments)
Ensure compliance with  Nova Scotia Employment Standards  and CRA regulations
Respond to employee payroll inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Gratuity & Tip Management   Audit, reconcile, and distribute gratuities across multiple outlets
Ensure accurate and policy-compliant tip allocations
Maintain detailed records for payroll processing and T4 reporting
Collaborate with department heads to resolve discrepancies
Accounts Payable & Receivable   Process invoices, coding, and approvals
Perform vendor reconciliations and manage payments (cheques/EFT)
Assist with accounts receivable, billing, and collections follow-up
Support daily revenue audits and POS reconciliation
Reporting & Compliance   Prepare payroll, labor, and gratuity reports
Manage T4s, ROEs, and government remittances
Support month-end close (journal entries, reconciliations)
Maintain organized records for audit purposes
Qualifications & Experience   Post-secondary education in  Accounting, Payroll, or Business Administration
PCP designation (or in progress) is considered a strong asset
Minimum  2–3 years of payroll and/or accounting experience
Experience in  hospitality or multi-unit operations preferred
Strong knowledge of  payroll legislation, CRA requirements, and compliance

Experience with payroll/accounting systems (e.g., ADP, Ceridian, UKG, Sage, Payworks)
Proficient in  Microsoft Excel and financial systems
High level of  accuracy and attention to detail
Strong  time management  and ability to meet strict deadlines
Ability to handle  confidential information with discretion
Strong  analytical and problem-solving skills
Clear and professional communication skills
Primarily office-based role with extended periods of computer work
Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment (payroll cycles, month-end)
Occasional interaction with multiple departments across the resort
