Audit Senior Officer

Position: Performance Audit Senior Officer
Take on an impactful role as a Senior Audit Officer with the Office of the Auditor General in Halifax. Lead performance audits, develop audit plans, and mentor junior staff within a flexible work environment.

This permanent position requires a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or those expecting to receive it soon. You will engage in complex audits across areas like healthcare and education, ensuring adherence to professional standards. Your work will directly contribute to meaningful evaluations and reports that shape public policy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and execute detailed performance audits

• Evaluate and document audit findings and systems

• Develop comprehensive audit reports summarizing findings

• Mentor junior staff through coaching and supervision

• Conduct limited travel within Nova Scotia as needed

Requirements:

• CPA designation or pending completion in 3-6 months

• Experience in internal audit or related analysis

• Strong skills in reporting and presenting research findings

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, especially Excel and Word

• Excellent time management and organizational skills
