Expense Associate

Position: Expense Associate at University of Waterloo
Contribute to financial operations as an Expense Associate at the University of Waterloo. This role focuses on processing invoices and applying accounting knowledge for non-salary expenses.

As an integral part of the finance team, you will manage vendor invoices and ensure compliance with policies. You will enter transactions, review documentation, categorize expenses, and mentor others in best practices. Detail-oriented candidates with experience in Accounts Payable will thrive in this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process and categorize supplier invoices and expense claims

• Review transactions for compliance and accuracy

• Match invoices to purchase orders requiring documentation

• Participate in month-end/year-end financial closing

• Provide training on University policies and procedures

Requirements:

• Post-secondary education in accounting or equivalent

• Experience in computerized accounting environments

• Understanding of Accounts Payable processes

• Advanced skills in MS Excel and Word

• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication abilities
