Yukon Financial Accounting Specialist

Enhance public sector finance management as a Financial Accountant for the Government of Yukon in Whitehorse. Drive successful financial reporting and compliance efforts across diverse entities.

This temporary, full-time role lasts until March 31, 2028, with 75 hours bi-weekly. You'll support the Office of the Comptroller in preparing public accounts, ensuring thorough audits and adherence to accounting standards. Compliance and financial analysis will play a critical role as you prepare necessary schedules and documents.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of Yukon financial statements

• Conduct comprehensive transaction reviews for accuracy

• Prepare T4/T4A forms related to service contracts

• Reconcile asset records within financial modules

• Support ongoing reporting improvements using financial tools

Requirements:

• Near completion of a professional accounting designation

• Experience in financial statement preparation

• Knowledge of Case Ware and internal auditing procedures

• Ability to summarize complex financial data clearly

• Strong skills in Excel for financial analysis
