Financial Accountant Finance Team

This full-time, permanent Financial Accountant joins Stewart McKelvey’s Finance team. You will manage reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and variance analysis. The position supports close processes, audits, controls, and Finance improvements.

Key Responsibilities:

Support month-end and year-end close processes
Prepare and post journal entries with supporting documentation
Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate variances
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting
Participate in annual financial statement audits
Requirements:
Post-secondary education in accounting, business, finance, or related field
Two to three years of relevant accounting experience
Strong Microsoft Excel and financial systems skills
Knowledge of reconciliations, journal entries, and variance analysis
Strong organization, attention to detail, and business acumen
Bring accounting expertise, analytical skills, and reporting discipline to Stewart McKelvey’s Halifax Finance team.
