Public Sector Pension Accountant

The Financial Accountant provides expert advice on complex corporate accounting and financial issues across the government reporting entity. Reporting to the Director, Financial Accounting, this permanent full-time position manages pension accounting files, supports senior management, and consults with departments, entities, and actuaries. The work focuses on accurate financial reporting, employee benefits, and practical solutions.

• Manage pension, retirement, and employee benefits accounting files
• Advise senior management on complex pension accounting matters
• Prepare actuarial assumptions, scenarios, presentations, and correspondence
• Research and implement Canadian public sector accounting standards
• Prepare consolidated and unconsolidated financial statements

• Professional accounting designation or equivalent
• Several years of related accounting experience
• Experience accounting for pensions and retirement benefits
• Strong Canadian public sector standards knowledge
• SAP, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint experience
