About Our Opportunity
The Senior Executive Administrative Coordinator is responsible for leading and coordinating a broad range of activities and functions for the Minister and office within the Department of Natural Resources. The incumbent is responsible for the planning and coordination of activities in support of the department's programs and services. The successful candidate gathers and analyzes information, assesses ooptions, and makes recommendations as appropriate.
This work contributes to a positive perception of Government's agenda, policies and activities, and the successful implementation of programs and services.

Primary Accountabilities
The Senior Executive Administrative Coordinator is required to demonstrate leadership, interpersonal skills, independent judgement, and decision-making skills that are necessary to support the Minister with the department of Natural Resources. Using sound priority and time management skills, you will ensure appropriate and timely responses to all communications both verbal and written, scheduling and facilitating appointments, meetings, workload planning, and coordinating work with other executive secretaries.
You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of government practices and policies in order to effectively support the Minister for office enquiries, correspondence and requests at the senior administrative level.
Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this opportunity, you hold a recognized office administration program and several years of experience in senior administrative positions.
Excellent judgement and ability to prioritize multiple priorities under tight deadlines are required. The successful applicant will possess strong teamwork and collaboration skills as part of an integrated administration team.
Excellent communication skills are necessary to liaise with external/internal stakeholders and the public. Must have a high degree of professionalism, tact, diplomacy and consistently exercise discretion and confidentiality in managing correspondence and information. Successful applicants must maintain composure in stressful situations.
Strong attention to detail is critical in this role with a particular focus on proof-reading, punctuationn, and grammar skills. Must understand the political and bureaucratic significance of issues and documents dealt with by the department, and exercise sound judgement in alerting the Minister of critical information. Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook (or similar email system) is required.

Equivalency
An equivalent combination of training, education, and experience will be considered. Applicants relying on education and experience equivalencies must demonstrate such equivalencies in their application.
Equivalencies which may be considered include, but are not limited to, several years of progressive experience in an administrative role leading to the support of senior officials.

Working conditions
- Normal work week is 35 hours/week, 7 hours/day.
- May be required to work overtime on occasion.
