Universal Rail Solutions Inc. is currently seeking Track persons to support railway construction and maintenance activities across Ontario.

The Opportunity

As a Track person
, you will work as part of a crew performing essential, hands‑on railway construction and maintenance tasks. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy physical outdoor work, value teamwork, and understand that safety is the foundation of everything we do
.

You will support track maintenance and construction activities while learning railway standards, tools, and procedures in a unionized environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Manually grade ballast and track surfaces.
  • Pull spikes and hammer spikes into rail ties.
  • Shovel rock and dirt for grading and ballast clearing.
  • Load and unload heavy materials on and off vehicles.
  • Operate small tools and equipment under direction.
  • Support general railway construction and maintenance activities.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s Licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
  • Basic understanding of construction methods and survey grades.
  • Ability to read instructions, technical specifications, and grade plans.
  • Ability to perform physical labour, including:
    • Moderate to heavy lifting
    • Standing, bending, shovelling, and working outdoors
  • General understanding of, or willingness to learn, the operation of small equipment such as:
    • Rail saws
    • Drills and grinders
    • Spike pullers
    • Air compressors
    • Bolters
    • Backpack blowers
  • Willingness to obtain required railway certifications, including CROR, TIGs, MX GEI
    , and other applicable certifications.
  • Willingness to obtain union membership.
