Director of Preconstruction Estimating

Lead preconstruction estimating in Halifax, owning Class D through Class A cost plans, procurement, and design coordination. Work primarily in office and design studio.
The Lawen Group, DEXEL, and Paramount seek a working leader to run preconstruction from concept through final buyout. You will prepare estimates, keep budgets tied to the pro forma, and lead DEXEL Architecture through its Production Manager. The role supports high-rise and multi-residential projects, including two 30-storey towers and heritage restoration.

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare every estimate and cost plan through final buyout
Lead tendering, procurement, bid levelling, and trade awards
Direct coordinated drawings for tender or construction
Complete constructability reviews and value engineering
Manage schedules, permits, readiness, and construction handover
Requirements:
Ten or more years leading multi-residential preconstruction, estimating, or design delivery
High-rise experience and self-prepared estimates on $50 million-plus projects
Experience scoping, tendering, qualifying, and awarding trade packages
BIM experience for coordination and quantity takeoff
Design judgment to hold incomplete drawing sets
Bring hands-on estimating, procurement, BIM, and design leadership to DEXEL’s Halifax preconstruction team and projects.
