Your expertise in braille production will shape learning for students who are blind, hard of hearing, or low vision. Working under the Supervisor of Production and Library Services, you will transcribe materials and produce tailored educational formats. You’ll ensure high standards of quality through rigorous proofreading and collaboration with colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create accessible educational materials in braille
• Transcribe texts using specialized software
• Design tactile graphics for instructional use
• Proofread braille and digital content for accuracy
• Track production statistics and outcomes
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in related field
• Certification in Unified English Braille required
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Contribute your skills in formatting and proofreading to empower the visually impaired community at APSEA in Halifax.
