Position: Front Desk Associate - Part Time Overnight Shift - The Canadian Resort

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Guest Services function of the resort: greet guests in a friendly and professional manner; complete guest registration process, issue unit keys, provide resort information and area attractions details and directions; accurately process all cash and credit card transactions in accordance with established procedures; balance all cash receipts, perform bucket check on shift, post all guest charges, complete cashier and other reports, prepare deposit, count & secure assigned bank.
  • Complete check‑out procedures: compute bills, verify that the correct charges and credits are posted to the corresponding guest folio, collect payment and make changes as required.
  • May routinely reserve and confirm guest reservations for individuals and/or groups requested by phone or from within the company; process cancellations, revisions, and updates.
  • Make pre‑arrival informational calls to booked incoming guests; confirm and cancel reservations; answer a variety of questions regarding reservations.
  • Provide quotes for room rates (35% of time).
  • Maintain positive guest, owner and associate relationships: respond to inquiries and concerns to ensure total guest satisfaction; resolve guest issues; escalate outstanding inquiries or concerns to management; recommend appropriate service recovery.
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communications and coordination with other departments (35% of time).
  • Ensure compliance with Operational Compliance, Safety & Security, Resort Operating Procedures, Guest Service Department Operating Procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (15% of time).
  • Cultivate a “Count On Me” Culture: continuously exhibit the company’s philosophy; be responsive, respectful, and deliver a great experience (10% of time).
  • Perform other duties as needed (5% of time).
Qualifications

Education: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 1 year of guest services experience in a hospitality/hotel/resort environment.
  • Or 1 year of customer service experience in a service or retail environment.

Knowledge &

Skills:

  • Organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to acquire and learn company policies and procedures.
  • Ability to read and comprehend routine instructions, short correspondence and memos.
  • Prioritization of customer service.
  • Problem‑solving with minimum supervision.
  • English reading, writing, and understanding.
  • Basic office skills, including basic math and proper cash handling procedures.
  • Professional appearance, positive attitude.
  • Multitasking in fast‑paced environment.
  • People oriented and ability to work independently or with others.
  • Detail oriented.

Technical

Skills:

  • PC skills: use of basic office equipment including fax, copier, printers.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office:
    Word, Excel, Outlook.
  • Hotel hospitality front office system knowledge is a plus.
  • Ability to switch between activities while operating a switchboard or computer keyboard.
Compensation

Hourly rate starting at $23.50. Final rate determined by experience, education, skills, training, and location.

Additional Information

This position is an overnight shift at the front desk. Travel is not required. Training may be local and about half to full day in duration.
