Position Status: 35 hrs/week, from June 22nd to August 28th

Compensation: $17/hr

About the Role:

Under the leadership and direction of the Program Coordinator, and in collaboration with program staff, the Program Assistant will provide direct, hands-on support in the daily operations of programs and services. This role focuses on assisting staff and clients in a variety oftasks, ensuring smooth delivery of services and program activities. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and ready to assist with a rangeof service delivery tasks in a dynamic, client-focused environment.

In

this role, you will:
  • Greet and support clients during program visits,assisting with check-in, navigation, and basic inquiries.
  • Provide guidance to appropriate staff, services, and resources as needed.
  • Prepare client materials such as welcome packages,forms, and handouts.
  • Offer support to ensure a welcoming, safe, accessible,and inclusive client experience.
  • Support basic administrative tasks including dataentry, filing, and documentation.
  • Assist with setup, organization, and cleanup ofworkshops, meetings, and community events.
  • Prepare and maintain program supplies, materials, andspaces.
  • Collect basic participant feedback to support programimprovement.
  • Provide general operational support to ensure smoothprogram delivery.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for clients and staff.
  • Distribute program materials and support communityoutreach activities.
  • Assist with client communication via phone, email, andsocial media.
  • Support community events by sharing programinformation and encouraging participation.
  • Remind clients of upcoming activities and support onboarding of new participants.
Education and Skills

Qualifications:
  • Experience working or volunteering in client-facingroles within community services, settlement, education, or social servicesettings
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to greet,support, and engage clients in a welcoming and respectful manner.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients, staff, and community partners in both verbal and written forms.
  • Basic administrative skills, including data entry,filing, documentation, and handling confidential information.
  • Experience supporting events, workshops, or communityprograms, including setup, coordination, and cleanup.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction while also working independently when required.
  • Familiarity with community resources and the abilityto guide clients to appropriate services is an asset.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel,Outlook) and comfort using email and social media platforms for communication support.
  • Ability to maintain a professional, inclusive, and welcoming environment for diverse clients and community members.
  • Flexibility to support evenings or weekends based onprogram needs.
