About the Role
As immigration, settlement, integration, and retention continue to play an increasingly important role in the social and economic vitality of Nova Scotia, there is a corresponding growth in the volume and diversity of stakeholders involved in attracting, employing, and engaging newcomers.

We are seeking a dynamic Training Facilitator to join our Immigrant Services team. This role will organize and deliver intercultural competency training sessions across the province, building skills, knowledge, and attitudes that support inclusive intercultural interactions.

This position will be responsible for developing and enhancing current materials and delivery models, and working collaboratively with department staff to deliver sessions through planned, proactive outreach.

Key Responsibilities

Organize ICT training services across the province through outreach and response (virtual and in-person delivery)

Review and adjust processes, templates, and training materials

Adapt, design, and implement training curriculum in multiple settings (in-person and virtual)

Maintain expertise in diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) content areas

Support others in delivering ICT materials and presentations

Schedule trainings, confirm logistics, and ensure materials are prepared

Report on training services and outcomes

Manage, create, and continuously update program communication documents

Serve as primary point of contact for internal and external training inquiries

Ensure evaluations are completed and feedback is collected

Gather accurate information on needs, challenges, and opportunities

Professionally de-escalate conflict situations when required

Maintain accurate records and reporting related to program spending and operations

Direct referrals for AIP settlement plans

Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Education & Qualifications

Education and/or experience in intercultural communication, adult education, or a related field

Strong understanding of intercultural learning concepts

Ability to apply adult and experiential learning principles

Strong facilitation skills and ability to adapt in fluid training environments

Knowledge of immigration, relocation, migration, or global mobility; lived experience is an asset

Awareness of local settlement sector resources and networks

Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Highly organized with the ability to multitask

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Creative approach to training design for both in-person and virtual delivery

Experience facilitating meetings with diverse stakeholder groups

Strong interpersonal, intercultural, and communication skills (verbal and written)

Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when required

Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License, reliable vehicle, and ability to travel within the province
