Support special education students in their educational journey as a SPED Teacher specializing in fundamental skills. Focus on creating enriching learning experiences tailored to individual needs in a 6th to 8th-grade setting.
This role involves developing alternative curricula based on TEKS that engage students in academic, recreational, and vocational skills. You will actively contribute to the Individual Education Plan (IEP) process, ensuring personalized support and growth for students with low incidence disabilities. The position emphasizes collaboration with the ARD Committee to enhance student learning.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and deliver alternative curricula for unique needs
• Integrate functional skill development into lessons
• Track and assess student achievements regularly
• Participate in the IEP process and team meetings
• Implement individualized behavior support plans
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
• Valid Texas teaching certification with endorsements
• Minimum of one year’s experience with special education
• Strong understanding of ARD and IEP processes
• Knowledge of effective behavior management strategies
