Make a significant impact as an Education Support Teacher focusing on Deaf and hard of hearing students at Atlantic Provinces Special Education Authority (APSEA) in Halifax. Help provide tailored educational support for diverse needs this school year.
This term role at APSEA allows you to collaborate with educators, families, and community partners to create effective programs for children who are DHH. You’ll leverage your skills to provide Tier 1, 2, and 3 support and ensure individualized success for each learner. Bring your passion to a supportive community dedicated to making a difference in students' lives.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide multi-tiered support for DHH learners
• Collaborate with classroom teachers and educational teams
• Support families in child development programs
• Maintain knowledge of assessment tools for DHH
• Facilitate access to adaptive technology
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in deaf education or equivalent
• Valid Nova Scotia Teacher Certificate
• Experience with children who are DHH
• Proficient in ASL communication
• Strong skills in assessment and program planning
