About the Opportunity
Dalhousie University’s School of Nursing invites applications for a full‑time, 3‑year limited‑term faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, specializing in Medical‑Surgical Nursing.
The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and/or graduate students, mentor and advise graduate students, and deliver courses in Medical‑Surgical Nursing as well as other courses aligned with their expertise. Teaching will include interprofessional education, distance, online and context‑based learning, and/or clinical simulation learning.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in Medical‑Surgical Nursing and related areas.
Mentor and advise graduate students.
Participate in interprofessional education and clinical simulation activities.
Engage in teaching and learning activities at local, national, and international levels to promote continuous improvement at Dalhousie.
Qualifications
Baccalaureate degree in Nursing (minimum);
Master’s degree in Nursing or related health discipline (preferred).
PhD in Nursing or related discipline is an asset.
Four to five years of clinical and teaching experience in Medical‑Surgical Nursing.
Advanced experience in pharmacology and Nurse Practitioner preferred.
Eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and practice.
