High School Building & Construction CTE Teachers
OPPORTUNITY
Green Dot is seeking Building and Construction CTE Teachers to develop construction skills (including industry standard safe working standards) and coordinate work placements for high school students. The ideal candidate will foster student learning outcomes that are apprenticeship‑ready for the Building and Construction Trades and be keenly aware of the technical skills students will need to thrive in the industry.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES- Exhibit and uphold Green Dot core values
- Create a culture of learning in your classroom
- Teach construction technology and safety skills and instill entrepreneurial attitudes in students
- Work with industry partners to establish, coordinate and monitor students in regular workplace assignments
- Seek out and apply cutting‑edge construction resources to the instructional setting
- Create active links to the construction industry to produce internships/externships and jobs for students
- Apply practical knowledge of construction instruction to prepare students for the industry
- Engage in data‑driven planning and assessment of student learning
- Establish a culture of respect and rapport to support students’ emotional safety
- Facilitate rigorous learning by delivering cognitively engaging lessons that incorporate our instructional methodologies
- Engage in critical reflection, revising practice to increase effectiveness
- Participate in a professional community across your school site and the Green Dot network
- Develop partnerships within the community by communicating with families and leveraging resources that support student success
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Valid California Designated Subjects CTE Teaching Credential for Building Trades and Construction or equivalent industry work experience
- At least three years of construction industry experience
- Prior teaching or mentoring experience (preferred)
- Licensed contractor (preferred)
- Strong content knowledge, pedagogical understanding, and capacity to plan and deliver instruction to meet student needs

For California‑based educators: possess a valid California Career Technical Education (CTE) credential for Building Construction, or a valid Preliminary or Clear Single Subject credential by July 2026.
Out‑of‑state or non‑credentialed applicants should assess eligibility with the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing before applying.
COMPENSATION ‑ SALARYCredentialed teachers: $71,085 – $127,985, depending on education level and years of experience.
Aspirant teachers in credential programs: $62,316 – $63,866.
