Position: Part-Time Academic (ARCH 5215: Fabrication) - Fall 2026
Job Summary &

Key Responsibilities

The School of Architecture at Dalhousie University invites applications for a Part-Time Academic Instructor position in the Master of Architecture degree program. The is a professional two-year graduate Architecture degree. Students complete a Pre-Professional Bachelor degree before enrolment.

The Instructor will teach a first-year 3-credit seminar in architectural technology. Graduate seminars are topics-based and can be developed in the instructor’s research and/or practice area-of-expertise. Graduate technology courses consist of up to approximately eighteen students, and meet one time each week for 3 hours. The Fall Term is a 14-week term. Graduate technology courses may be taught remotely. In-person is preferred.

This course studies the sequence of trades involved in building construction. It examines the material processes of various construction industries and considers their implications for design, with an emphasis on relations between convention and innovation.

Qualifications/Requirements of Position

Qualifications / or equivalent with demonstrated expertise in the advertised topic.

  • Research accomplishment as demonstrated through CV, Portfolio, and Publications
  • Prior instruction in subject area at graduate level or equivalent
  • Professional Competencies
