Key Responsibilities
Duties include full responsibility for delivery and administration of teaching (lectures and labs course material delivery as per syllabus; exam prep, delivery, and marking; TA supervision; lab material and lab assignment delivery and marking, etc) for PHYC 4540 – Synoptic Meteorology I (Fall 2026).
This course introduces the practical skills of meteorological observation and analysis. Emphasis is on developing skills in drawing and interpreting weather maps, and on studying the three-dimensional structure of weather systems. Satellite and radar remote sensing of the atmosphere is also introduced. Case studies of atmospheric systems and processes are carried out during the tutorial-laboratory period.
Lectures:
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 11:30am to 1:00pm
Labs:
Tuesdays and Thursdays: 1:00pm to 2:30pm
Reasonable office hours should be available to students.
Position reports to the Chair of the Department of Physics & Atmospheric Science.
