The Halifax Regional Centre for Education is hiring a Substitute French Teacher for Grades 2/3. This position will be in effect from September 1, 2026, to July 31, 2027.
This long-term assignment provides opportunities to work in a dynamic French immersion setting focused on student achievement and well-being. The HRCE emphasizes equitable representation and invites applications from individuals of African Nova Scotian, African Canadian, and Indigenous heritage. The selected candidate will play a vital role in a responsive learning community.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach French immersion subjects to Grade 2 and 3
• Design interactive and inclusive learning activities
• Promote student engagement through various teaching methods
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching practices
• Maintain high standards of classroom management
Requirements:
• Must hold a valid teaching certificate in Nova Scotia
• Effective communication skills in French essential
• Experience working in diverse educational settings
• Passion for fostering inclusive environments in education
• Background checks required before employment
