Oxford Learning Halifax seeks a skilled part-time Math & Science Tutor to support high school students. Ideal for those who enjoy teaching and fostering academic success in a structured, supportive setting.
In this in-person role, you will work with students in Grades 9-12 and assist in subjects like trigonometry, calculus, and biology. The tutor will not only provide academic support but also help students build confidence and improve their learning skills through structured methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Instruct groups of up to three students using established techniques
• Assist with challenging subjects like chemistry and advanced math
• Keep accurate records of student progress
• Create a positive, structured learning environment
• Build trusting relationships with students while maintaining professionalism
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or in progress in a related area
• In-depth knowledge of high school curriculum
• Experience in tutoring, teaching, or coaching
• Effective communication skills in both written and spoken forms
• Availability for 2-3 evenings per week
