Rocket Lab seeks a skilled Spacecraft Operations Engineer II in Long Beach, CA, to ensure robust and safe operations of satellite missions. This role demands technical leadership to meet the mission objectives efficiently.

As a member of our esteemed Space Systems team, you will manage the health and safety of rockets during their missions, focusing on interplanetary exploration and national security initiatives. Your leadership in crafting operational frameworks and automating processes will be crucial. Collaborate closely with design, software, and propulsion teams to drive mission success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the technical lead for mission operations

• Define mission operations requirements and validate them

• Develop automation strategies for efficient operations

• Author critical operational design documentation

• Engage in program milestone reviews and improvements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field

• 8+ years of relevant aerospace experience

• 3+ years leading teams through spacecraft missions

• Strong programming skills in Python or C++

• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance
