Position Overview Responsible for preparing work orders and instructions, ensuring compliance with the approved maintenance program and aircraft work standards. Planners develop process plans, material requirements, labor estimates, and tooling requirements for aircraft programs and component production.
Key Responsibilities Plan and estimate detail manufacture, repair & overhaul, process and assembly sequences of production work.
Ensure work readiness, including detailed review, interdepartmental coordination, issue resolution, and deployment of work to the floor.
Research and review technical data for accuracy and completeness.
Ensure correct and approved maintenance program data is called out within the Process Planning documentation and maintained.
Ensure correct product conformance procedures, including handling of non-conforming material, are followed and recorded.
Advising appropriate AMO authority of any deficiency that may compromise airworthiness.
Determine and initiate provisioning requirements for all projects/programs.
Assist Production, Purchasing, and Sub-Contractors with technical data interpretation and liaise with Engineering to resolve problems.
Initiate and action requests for Engineering Services (RES).
Prepare labor and material cost estimates for proposals and Request For Employees.
Provide guidance and assistance to personnel as required.
Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications Three to five years in an aircraft R&O environment, utilizing commercial and military quality control requirements; or
Three to five years experience as a Planner/Estimator or equivalent; or
Graduate of Community College Technologist Program (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical) or trade-qualified ex-military aircraft technician (AVN, AVS) or licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) or certified Aircraft Maintenance Technician (AMT).
Review and become familiar with the Maintenance Process Manual (MPM) and demonstrate basic knowledge of technical airworthiness functions, authority and responsibilities.
Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies, and comply fully with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 5S activities in your area.
Eligible for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC Contract Security Program, and Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
