Join the Government of Nova Scotia as a Bridge Evaluation Engineer in Halifax. This permanent position offers a chance to evaluate and enhance the province's bridges and infrastructure.
In this role, you will evaluate the load capacities of bridges and prepare necessary permits while working alongside various engineering teams. Your knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code will guide your assessments and recommendations to ensure safe and effective bridge rehabilitation. Strong communication skills will be key in this multifaceted role, managing both technical documents and collaborative efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Perform load capacity evaluations of bridges
• Engage in structural rehabilitation recommendations
• Prepare and oversee tender and contract processes
• Collaborate with engineering teams for project success
• Improve Special Move Permit operations
Requirements:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering
• Familiarity with Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code
• Member or eligible for Engineers Nova Scotia
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to manage multiple priorities
