Job Title
- Mid-Level Hydrotechnical Engineer
Location
- This full-time position is open to candidates located in Peterborough, Ontario, Halifax, Nova Scotia or in Winnipeg, Manitoba.
Requirements

Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or a related field

Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) registration or commitment to obtain licensure within one year

4–6 years of experience in hydrotechnical engineering, civil engineering, or a closely related field

Experience completing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses and applying hydrology and hydraulics engineering principles

Experience with open channel flow analysis and numerical modeling

Proficiency with HEC-RAS and HEC-HMS modeling software

Experience designing hydraulic structures, dams, or water resources infrastructure

Experience performing hydrologic studies, including Probable Maximum Precipitation (PMP) and Probable Maximum Flood (PMF) analyses

Experience with floodplain mapping, dam breach studies, and consequence assessments

Ability to collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams

Experience coordinating project work with other engineering disciplines

Authorization to work in Canada and ability to obtain authorization to work in the United States as required

Valid driver's license and willingness to travel

Experience with dam safety projects

Experience in fish passage engineering and fish passage structure design

Experience with CFD modeling software such as FLOW-3D

Knowledge of Canadian Dam Association Guidelines, bulletins, and applicable provincial regulations

Experience with river ice studies

Experience with dam decommissioning, dam removal, stream restoration, or hydropower feasibility projects

Experience collaborating with regulators, biologists, and environmental scientists

Ability to obtain and maintain additional provincial engineering licenses as needed
