Traffic Signal Technologist Regional Municipality

Elevate urban infrastructure as a full-time Traffic Signal Technologist with Halifax Regional Municipality. You will oversee traffic signal systems, ensuring safety and efficient operations.

This permanent position in Public Works emphasizes technical support for new installations and upgrades of traffic signals and street lights. With a focus on system operation and maintenance, your role will involve programming traffic signal timings and troubleshooting equipment. Candidates must have experience in traffic signalization and electronics, alongside relevant certifications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical input for new traffic signal designs

• Program and maintain traffic signal control systems

• Operate centralized traffic signal control systems

• Assist with requests for signal configuration changes

• Monitor and ensure safe operation of signals

Requirements:

• Diploma in Engineering Technology related to electrical systems

• Two years of experience in traffic signal operations

• IMSA Level II Traffic Signal certification (or ability to obtain)

• Strong knowledge of traffic signal timing principles

• Valid Nova Scotia Driver’s License required
