Job Title:Water Management Area Lead- HDPE Dewatering & Inventory
Reporting to the Superintendent, Operations, the Water Management Area Lead is responsible for supporting the safe, effective, and compliant operation of site water management activities, with a primary focus on HDPE dewatering pipeline construction, monitoring, maintenance, inventory management, deliveries, and material tracking.
This role provides hands-on field leadership to the Operations team, ensuring water collection, transfer, and discharge systems are installed, operated, and maintained to support production, environmental compliance, and site safety objectives. The Water Management Area Assistant coordinates daily field activities, prioritizes work execution, monitors system performance, and works closely with Operations, Maintenance, Warehouse, and Environmental teams.
Responsibilities (including But Not Limited To) Water Management Operations- Lead daily water management activities, including the installation, modification, monitoring, and maintenance of HDPE dewatering pipelines, pumps, and discharge infrastructure.
- Support HDPE pipe construction, tie-ins, reroutes, and system expansions to meet operational and production requirements.
- Monitor water transfer systems, pump performance, telemetry systems, and respond to alarms or abnormal operating conditions.
- Ensure water collection, transfer, and discharge activities are completed safely and in accordance with site priorities, environmental requirements, and operational plans.
- Verify pump discharge locations and HDPE infrastructure are operating safely and within regulatory and permit requirements.
- Maintain inventory control for water management materials and equipment, including HDPE pipe, fittings, hoses, pumps, fuel systems, and spare parts.
- Coordinate and receive deliveries, ensuring materials are inspected, documented, unloaded safely, and stored appropriately.
- Maintain organized laydown yards, tool storage areas, containers, and material staging locations.
- Track inventory levels and maintain accurate records, spreadsheets, and material tracking documentation.
- Provide updates to Operations, Warehouse, and other site teams regarding material availability, delivery schedules, and inventory status.
- Provide direction and support to Water Management Operators and Technicians during daily field activities.
- Coordinate field crews involved in HDPE pipeline construction, pump relocations, dewatering activities, and material handling.
- Support onboarding, training, coaching, and performance development of team members.
- Work closely with Maintenance and Electrical teams to coordinate repairs, preventative maintenance, and equipment modifications.
- Conduct and oversee inspections of pumps, HDPE pipelines, valves, power systems, and associated infrastructure.
- Identify leaks, damage, equipment deficiencies, and system performance issues and assist with corrective actions.
- Support preventative maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and system performance.
- Assist in troubleshooting and optimizing water management systems to reduce downtime and improve operational efficiency.
- Ensure water management activities are conducted in accordance with environmental permits, water management plans, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain records of inspections, maintenance activities, telemetry data, water management activities, and compliance-related documentation.
- Support discharge monitoring, water sampling activities, and environmental compliance programs as required.
- Work closely with Environmental personnel to support audits, inspections, and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Conduct routine inspections of pump locations, pipelines, access roads, and laydown areas.
- Ensure housekeeping, snow removal, access control, and general site conditions support safe operations.
