AtkinsRéalis is growing and our Atlantic Canada Engineering group is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our growing Electrical Engineering team. Reporting to the Senior Electrical Team Lead, you will support the execution of a wide variety of electrical projects by collaborating with a team of engineers, technologists, and technicians. This position provides for on-going career advancement including developing technical expertise, gain team leadership skills and exposure to project management and client facing roles with in-house training and support.
Our Engineering Services team in Halifax is dynamic and tight-knit, servicing local projects while contributing to large national and international projects as part of distributed virtual project teams. Our projects are varied and span Healthcare, National Defence, Light + Heavy Industrial, Transportation (Rail + Transit, Ports + Marines), Municipal, Federal (including Defence + Nuclear), and Institutional industries.
Your Role Preparation of electrical single line diagrams, AC control schematics, wiring distribution schemes, panel schedules. Development of cable block diagrams, cable and conduit schedules. Design of physical layout of electrical equipment, cables, raceways, and grounding plans related to the various facilities within the plant. Coordination studies and arc flash calculations. Perform site inspections and technical support during construction activities.
Collaborate with Engineers, Designers and CAD Technicians, provide tasking and guidance to junior and support staff towards project execution. Support the Electrical Team Lead in adhering project deliverables to meet electrical department methods and quality procedures aligned with corporate standards.
Participate in providing input to engineering level of effort estimates and proposal content to support business development.
Build and maintain strong internal and external client relationships to support business growth and ensure client satisfaction.
Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools, and project delivery efficiency.
About You Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering. Registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng) with an engineering association of an Atlantic Canada province.
PMP designation or CAPM certification is an asset.
Minimum 3-6 years' of relevant experience in Electrical Engineering consulting with technical knowledge of building and site electrical systems.
Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and relevant industry standards.
Demonstrable experience building and maintaining relationships with clients (i.e. understanding client objectives, anticipating, and meeting client needs, and growing our business).
Experience supervising and tasking junior support staff.
Willing to travel occasionally within and outside of Nova Scotia.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to apply and obtain security clearances required by various client agencies.
