Position: Structural Surveyor (Military Warship/Combat Vessel or Submarine)
Insight Global is looking to bring on several Structural Surveyors for a government contract on the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) docked in Halifax, NS. You will be working on submarines and should have specific experience conducting structural surveys on either submarines or military/ combat/ warships and vessels (not commercial ships). You will be involved in conducting visual inspections on tanks, compartment structure, pressure hull structure or hull penetrations.

You should be comfortable with surveyor tools such as pit gauges, feeler gauges, and bridge cam gauges. You most be comfortable with identifying issues, translating those issues into military terms and reporting them using proper documentation. The documentation should include repair recommendations and assessments. Any education or training that support the role of structural surveyor is an asset, not required (listed in the preferred qualifications).
Required Skills & Experience   Minimum 2 years+ experience conducting structural surveys on submarine or military/ combat/ warships and vessels (not commercial ships)
Experience conducting visual inspections on tanks, compartment structure, pressure hull structure or hull penetrations
Experience using surveyor tools such as pit gauges, feeler gauges, bridge cam gauges
Experience identifying and mapping structural defects in a coordinate system for reporting purposes
Comfortable identifying structural issues and preparing reporting documentation for repair/fix recommendations
Comfortable working 5x weekly onsite at the CMF Cape Scott Dockyard (2365 Provo Wallis St. Halifax, NS)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience  Education and training that support the role of a structural surveyor such as: (not required, but preferred)
Lloyds Hull Inspection, Damage and Repair course
AMPP CIP Level 1 OR NACE Certification
CSA W178.2 Welding Inspector Level 1 Course
American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) Practical Welding Technology or CWB Welding Basics
