Position: Porter (Casino), Part-time-HFX
Location: Halifax Regional MunicipalityPosition Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Facilities Manager, this position ensures the cleanliness of the casino and public areas to ensure an outstanding experience for casino guests. Must be collaborative, excel at multi-tasking and display exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports Great Canadian's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.
Above all else, must embrace and be aligned with Casino Nova Scotia’s culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.
Key Accountabilities
General and specialized cleaning duties in all casino areas including gaming floor, kitchens, and other back of house areasResponsible for heavy lifting including maneuvering heavy cleaning equipmentWorks with cleaning chemicals and operates various cleaning equipmentProvides an exceptional experience for casino internal and external guest s as this position is a high guest contact positionDevelops and cultivates strong working relationships with all stakeholders: guests, ownership, team members, vendors and regulatorsEnsures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulationsPerforms other duties as assigned or directedEducation and Qualifications
Must be able to use industrial machinery such as burnishers, buffers and carpet extractorsMust be able to work backshiftKnowledge of cleaning chemicals and procedures an assetWHMIS knowledge an assetMust be able to lift 40 lbs.Must have good communication skillsMust be a team playerMust be able to prioritize and have strong time management skills.Must have excellent guest service skillsAbility to successfully obtain a Gaming LicenseWork Environment Considerations
