Shape community safety as a Fire Prevention Technician with Kativik Regional Government. This permanent, rotational role focuses on fire safety education and emergency preparedness initiatives.
The KRG is seeking a Public Safety & Fire Prevention Technician to enhance emergency readiness in northern Quebec. The role requires developing safety programs, enforcing fire codes, and collaborating with local fire brigades. You’ll also conduct fire investigations and assist in municipal emergency response planning, ensuring community well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver fire prevention programs
• Enforce fire safety codes and legislation
• Inspect fire protection systems in public buildings
• Conduct fire investigations and prepare reports
• Collaborate on emergency response plans
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Fire Prevention or certifications
• Minimum two years of related experience
• Ability to interpret building plans
• In-depth knowledge of Fire Codes
• Excellent communication skills in at least two languages
