Elevate fire safety in Nunavik as a Fire Prevention Technician with the Kativik Regional Government. This permanent position focuses on community training and emergency preparedness in northern Quebec.
As part of the Civil Security Department, you'll promote fire safety and prevention programs across 14 northern villages. This role requires the education and enforcement of fire safety codes while inspecting fire protection systems. Engage in fire investigations and collaborate with municipal fire brigades to develop key intervention plans crucial to the Nunavik Fire Safety Cover plan.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and deliver fire prevention programs to communities
• Enforce applicable fire safety codes and legislation
• Inspect public buildings and major occupancies for safety compliance
• Conduct thorough fire investigations with detailed reporting
• Collaborate on emergency response plans with local brigades
Requirements:
• Post-secondary education in Fire Prevention (AEC)
• Minimum two years related experience required
• Knowledge of Building and Fire Codes essential
• Proficient in relevant computer software applications
• Ability to communicate in two languages preferred
Support fire safety initiatives and improve community resilience as a key player in Nunavik.
