Join Halifax Regional Municipality as a full-time Planner III, focusing on advanced planning and mentorship within the Housing Accelerator Fund group. Engage with diverse stakeholders to foster inclusive community development.
The Planner III position at Halifax Regional Municipality offers an exceptional opportunity to lead significant planning projects for a term of up to 12 months.
Your role will encompass Development Review, Urban Design, and Heritage Planning while mentoring junior planners. Use your expertise to enhance planning processes that reflect community values.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and lead advanced planning assignments and initiatives
• Serve as a liaison between citizens, developers, and officials
• Analyze and process complex planning applications
• Present detailed recommendations to Council and Committees
• Research and monitor emerging planning trends and best practices
Requirements:
• Degree in Planning or related field with relevant experience
• Minimum 5 years of professional planning experience required
• Knowledge of HRM Charter and municipal laws necessary
• Experience in municipal government is an asset
• Must hold a valid driver’s license
