Halifax Regional Municipality has a full-time Planner III position open in the Housing Accelerator Fund group. This role seeks an advanced planning professional with project leadership experience.
The Planner III will guide complex projects and mentor less experienced staff while interfacing with various stakeholders. A solid foundation in planning principles and municipal governance is essential for successfully navigating community development challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead professional planning services and mentorship for junior staff
• Act as a liaison between elected officials and the public
• Evaluate and process varied and complex planning applications
• Draft and present detailed reports to committees and Council
• Conduct field assessments and planning investigations
Requirements:
• University degree in planning or related field with five years of experience
• Must work towards Licensed Professional Planner designation
• Valid driver’s license required
• Extensive knowledge of planning legislation and municipal laws
• Effective project management skills required
