Part-Time Telecommunicator

Halifax County seeks a Telecommunicator I for part-time shifts, covering weekends and holidays. You'll work at the communications console, handling urgent requests with precision. Key Responsibilities:

• Dispatch law enforcement and emergency personnel effectively

• Analyze and respond to communications in real-time

• Maintain detailed records during dispatch operations

• Operate the communication console for varying shifts

• Interact courteously with the public and responders

Requirements:

• High school graduation or equivalent

• Typing speed of 45 wpm or higher

• Certifications in DCI, Basic Telecommunicator, EMD, and CPR

• Experience in dispatching or emergency services is preferred

• Knowledge of the Halifax County area is a plus
