Halifax County seeks a skilled Telecommunicator I to manage law enforcement, medical, and fire responses. Candidates should exhibit strong typing skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure. Familiarity with computerized dispatching and the Halifax area is preferred, especially with weekend and holiday shifts required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Dispatch law enforcement, medical, and fire services

• Operate communications console for extended durations

• Analyze emergency calls with accuracy

• Interact courteously with public and responders

• Maintain up-to-date certifications and training

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Strong typing skills (35 wpm minimum)

• Experience in dispatching or emergency services preferred

• Ability to obtain DCI, EMD, and CPR certifications

• Flexibility for varying shifts, including weekends
