Consistently ensures food quality, presentation, and service delivery meet established department standards. Ensures meals are attractive, the correct temperature and portion size, and that service is timelyFollows production sheets to guide food preparation and assist with cost controlStays up to date with the specific needs of each resident e.g. diet restrictions, allergies and special requests/accommodationsStays up to date with daily changes related to menus and/or residentsFamiliarizes self with the specific needs of each client e.g. diet restrictions, allergies and special requests/accommodationsAssists with the process for checking and receiving of deliveries and inventory control. Ensures all supplies are stored, labelled, and rotated properlyMakes sure that the Servery and dining room appearance meets set standards for cleanliness, organization and set up prior to meal serviceProcesses pots, pans, and dishware and maintains sanitation dishwasher and dish sinks according to established and required cleaning guidelinesImmediately reports any equipment temperature issues to manager and takes corrective action as necessaryParticipates in the client and employee incident reporting and investigation process as requiredReports areas and equipment in need of repair to the maintenance departmentEnsures kitchen appearance meets established standards for cleanliness and organizationAdditional duties as assignedAbout You

A high-school diploma or GEDProof of Food Safety Certification requiredExperience in a kitchen setting is considered an assetPrevious experience in working with the elderly in long-term care or a senior living environment considered an assetBilingualism in English and French considered an assetFirst Aid and CPR certification considered an assetAbility to work flexible hours and shifts (including weekends and holidays)Strong customer service skills and a passion for serving seniorsExperience in the culinary field and are familiar with preparing plates for clientsA passion for the healthcare sector and/or ensuring seniors have access to quality accommodations, services and careAbout Us
