Position: Safety Consultant for Nova Scotia Health
Location: Halifax Regional Municipality

Join Nova Scotia Health as a Safety Consultant focusing on Occupational Health and Safety. Collaborate with management to ensure optimal safety standards and compliance.

In this full-time role reporting to the Provincial Safety Manager, you will play a crucial part in enhancing workplace safety through developing compliance programs. Leveraging relationships with key agencies and stakeholders, you will guide the implementation of the OHS Management System and perform audits to ensure regulatory adherence. Your expertise will also contribute to investigations and the training of staff at all levels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create training and support programs for OHS compliance

• Work with management to enhance safety practices

• Conduct OHSMS audits for continuous improvement

• Facilitate Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee functions

• Offer expert safety consultations for all departments

Requirements:

• Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety required

• At least 3 years of OHS experience

• Eligible for Canadian Registered Safety Professional certification

• Deep understanding of OH&S regulations

• Strong organizational and decision-making skills
