- Compensation: $34,776 – $46,042/hour
- Closing Date: June 01, :59 Atlantic Time
Monday to Friday (75 hours biweekly) between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Responsibilities- Operate radiological and accessory equipment for mammography within Diagnostic Imaging / Mammography, Breast Screening Multiple Sites and IWK Diagnostic Sites.
- Perform radiological procedures for medical diagnosis: assess requisitions for appropriate examinations, obtain pertinent history, select techniques and position patients to attain quality images.
- Operate X‑Ray equipment and adhere to ALARA radiation safety practices.
- Carry out sterile techniques when required.
- Perform clerical duties related to the care of the patient.
- Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising judgment, ingenuity and initiative.
- Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.
- Graduate of an approved school of Radiological Technology.
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP).
- Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
- Successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) program within the last 12 months or a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate.
- Mammography experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to make independent technical decisions and work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- A high degree of mental and visual acuity, and reasonable manual dexterity.
- Willingness to obtain continuing education as part of CAR Mammography Accreditation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Competencies in other languages an asset.
