• Compensation: $34,776 – $46,042/hour

Monday to Friday (75 hours biweekly) between 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.

• Operate radiological and accessory equipment for mammography within Diagnostic Imaging / Mammography, Breast Screening Multiple Sites and IWK Diagnostic Sites.
• Perform radiological procedures for medical diagnosis: assess requisitions for appropriate examinations, obtain pertinent history, select techniques and position patients to attain quality images.
• Operate X‑Ray equipment and adhere to ALARA radiation safety practices.
• Carry out sterile techniques when required.
• Perform clerical duties related to the care of the patient.
• Work independently with minimal supervision, exercising judgment, ingenuity and initiative.
• Collaborate effectively with an interdisciplinary team.

• Graduate of an approved school of Radiological Technology.
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP).
• Current registration or eligibility for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (CAMRT).
• Successful completion of a Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Basic Life Support (BLS) program within the last 12 months or a BLS Renewal Challenge Certificate.
• Mammography experience preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to make independent technical decisions and work as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• A high degree of mental and visual acuity, and reasonable manual dexterity.
• Willingness to obtain continuing education as part of CAR Mammography Accreditation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Competencies in other languages an asset.
