About the Opportunity

Reporting to the Health Services Manager and working under the supervision or direction of regulated health professionals, the Care Team Assistant provides direct, hands-on care based on the needs of the patient and program/unit. As a member of the collaborative care team, the Care Team Assistant is responsible for supporting patients' activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living.

The Care Team Assistant also reinforces patient and family teaching according to established guidelines and the plan of care.

About You

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Continuing Care Assistant Program
  • Provincial Certification with Department of Health and Wellness
    • Candidates are required to submit their certification and be registered and active with the CCA Registry. How-to-Sign-Up-for-the-CCA- ()
  • Current Basic Life Support Certification
  • Demonstrates effective listening skills
  • Communicates effectively both verbally and in writing
  • A passion for caring for others and providing compassionate, patient-centered care /li>
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with patients, families, and team members
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written /li>
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong active listening skills and ability to respond respectfully and professionally in challenging situations
  • Comfortable working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team environment
  • Proficiency with computers and electronic health systems/documentation
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and adapt in a fast-paced environment
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Where there are no applicants with provincial certification the employer may consider candidates who are eligible to write the CCA knowledge exam and obtain certification within 1 year from their date of hire.

Hours

  • Permanent full-time position; 75 hours biweekly

Compensation and Benefits

$24.91 - $28.37 hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
