Therapeutic Assistant

Position: Full-Time Therapeutic Assistant Role
Step into a rewarding Therapeutic Assistant role at Halifax Infirmary, specializing in Rehabilitation & Supportive Care Services. Provide vital therapeutic support in a full-time permanent capacity.

Located in the Neuro Science Acute Care unit, this position focuses on assisting patients in their rehabilitation journey. Working alongside various healthcare professionals, including the Recreation Therapist, you will apply your knowledge gained from a diploma in Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation to deliver therapeutic services effectively. Your leadership skills and CPR certification will be essential as you contribute to the interdisciplinary team's efforts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate therapeutic activities for patients in rehabilitation

• Work collaboratively with various healthcare professionals

• Communicate patient-specific insights with the treatment team

• Support health-promoting initiatives and recreational activities

• Help assess and evaluate patient needs effectively

Requirements:

• Diploma from a two-year Recreation or Therapeutic Recreation program

• Current CPR certification required;
First Aid preferred

• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

• Knowledge of community resources is an asset

• Must commit to 75 hours biweekly of work
