This temporary position operates within the Pharmacy Distribution department at IWK Health, catering to a diverse patient population across Atlantic Canada. As a Registered Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and dispensing medications, conducting technical checks, and supporting pharmacy students. Your work will directly support patient care through accurate medication management.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct technical checks of prepared medications
• Process telephone medication order clarifications
• Administer medications by injection, if permitted
• Train pharmacy technician students in practice
• Maintain compliance with federal and provincial regulations
Requirements:
• Accredited pharmacy technician training or degree
• Licensure with the Nova Scotia College of Pharmacists
• Strong ethics and professionalism in practice
• Proficiency in sterile and non-sterile compounding
• Commitment to patient safety and effective product distribution
