Advance your career with Nova Scotia Health as a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the Central Zone. This permanent full-time role involves medication preparation, patient care, and inventory management.
This position reports to the Pharmacy Manager and focuses on individualized patient-centered care. You will be involved in drug preparation, packaging, and distribution, ensuring safety and efficacy. Key responsibilities include compounding sterile medications, supporting chemotherapy dosing, and participating in patient safety initiatives to enhance care quality.
Key Responsibilities:
• Prepare and dispense medications under pharmacist supervision
• Compound sterile and non-sterile dosage forms accurately
• Work with pharmacy automation and inventory control systems
• Participate in quality programs to ensure patient safety
• Distribute narcotics and reconcile medication needs
Requirements:
• Graduate of accredited Pharmacy Technician Program
• Licensed in Nova Scotia as Pharmacy Technician
• Basic Life Support certification required
• Experience in a hospital pharmacy setting preferred
• Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
